Costa Masa Residence
Primary Bath Remodel · Transitional Luxury · Costa Mesa, CA
The Brief
The clients had lived with this bathroom for years — functional, but a far cry from what they wanted. White tile, dated cabinetry, a corner tub that felt more builder-grade than retreat. They were ready for something that finally matched the way they wanted to feel in their own home.
The Approach
We led all interior design decisions and coordinated with the project team to bring this vision to life.
The centerpiece is a dramatic floor-to-ceiling black marble surround — bold veining in gold and white that commands the room without overwhelming it. Against that backdrop, every other decision became clear: a freestanding soaking tub in crisp white, brushed brass fixtures throughout, and large-format porcelain tile underfoot to keep the floor grounded and easy to maintain.
The vanity wall was reimagined entirely — dark custom cabinetry running the full length of the room, topped with white quartz and anchored by three backlit round mirrors. The brass sconces and orbital chandelier add warmth and a touch of drama that makes the space feel curated rather than decorated.
Plantation shutters were retained for privacy and light control — a practical choice that also softens the room and connects it to the rest of the home.
The Result
A complete interior transformation the clients described as walking into a five-star hotel — except it's theirs to keep.
